I’ve been thinking a lot about “web apps” today. Wanting to know more about the current 2023 thinking…

How are web designers, stakeholders, developers perceiving them these days? Just a website with cool abilities? Or as a whole different thing separate from the web? Super hot must have? Or old news / every website should be fast, fit mobile screens, & provide useful value to users / who cares about the label? User-centric-design way to innovate? Or buzzwordy conversion-metric-focused hype?

@jensimmons I see them as a distinct usecase of the web, either you have a static page with (optional) progressive enhancement, or you have a full-fledged application. I write both, depending on the task at hand. Also much prefer the web's tooling over any "native" frameworks so I'm glad the web can do both
