i dug myself into such a deep UI hole >:(
i can't find (and maybe there isn't) a good way to marry an actually threaded view of threads with indents, with keeping an author's 'main' thread into a single indentation level

because a thread will always be a reply to the previous post, it'll always indent sideways (posting screenshot after a few more replies to this to demonstrate)
