@tobi Now I got a feature idea that I will try to implement when I get off work: I should be able to copy such an emojum, and paste it in the custom emoji settings to add it!

@tobi @owl yeah having a means of copying emoji from remote instances like mastodon has would be very useful 👀

@kim @owl we do have an endpoint in the admin API for copying emojum, but not copying the images directly to the admin panel in a drag + drop kind of thing

@tobi @owl i was thinking in my head a frontend interface to view all the available remote emojis we are aware of, and then some kind of interface that allows you to select a remote emoji, type a lookup string (or leave empty for default) and just click "import" kinda thing

Follow

@kim @tobi @owl i was going to do it something like that but what if, additionally, you could paste a remote post link, and it'd list all the emoji in it for copying (or disabling if they're shitty). sort of a "steal this look"

@f0x @tobi @owl that would also be very cool 👀 i assume it would parse the AP object at URL location, pull out any shortcodes and then query the backend for them?

@kim @tobi @owl using the search endpoint, then use the emoji shortcodes in the returned toot to query the local emoji api
