Looking for visual gardening inventory tool :boost_ok:

I'm looking for a tool helps me keep track of my plants. Basically I want to create a polygon for the garden in which I can put zones (shapes) that mark plants or other objects (paths, trash bins, compost bin, ...).

In addition, I'd like to store information for the objects (Full plant name, planted 2020, pruned April 2022, nice harvest July 2022, don't water too often).

Doesn't have to be specifically for gardening. Needs to run on Linux, Open Source would be nice and should have some kind of import/export so I can use my stuff on different computers. Some web tool would be fine as well, especially if it can be self hosted.

@tofuwabohu very not-garden specific, but you could kinda do this in inkscape? I think svg objects even support metadata fields that isn't directly shown on screen, for longer comments

@f0x I thought about Inkscape as well but I'm not sure if there's a convenient way to display the metadata information in the ui (which is kind of the point of the whole thing).

@tofuwabohu you can open the Object > Object Properties menu in the sidebar, and set an object's description. Still kind of clunky though
