holy shit the "stop drone bl" spammers have found every open registration instance under the sun to spam to a local user here who hasn't logged in in years. The federated timeline is compleeetely flooded
the posts are all the same but even with a filter the Federated timeline is just Filtered posts fucking shit software
oh yeah and image uploads are completely broken, too hammered I guess

how the fuck does Mastodon not have *anything* to handle this. it's soo easy to take the public lists of instances and just register everywhere
and individual instances blocking the accounts makes no difference in the total wave of spam
ok i wasn't getting spammed remotely anymore... but betrayed by my own sidekiq queue; 29305 jobs in queue before I deleted those
and now the spam is gone
Mastodon has absolutely no way to handle this...
