so.... budget cuts
it was short (6 hours)
the mechanics weren't super clear (you can kill bots by headbutting them?? i only found out when i read the achievements at the end)

there is a jeff x_____x
and once you beat jeff the game is basically won

and there's apparently a budget cuts 2

will play that... another time...

so basically we got

robots (lots of robots... literally there are no humans)
sharp things (throwy kind [don't whack your controller into the wall be careful lol])
discount cave johnson
cookies :dragncookie:
phone russell
venting (because,,, you are sus)
jeff (fucking jeff)

actually phone russell is not quite russell because the character doesn't even serve to break up your tension by telling you about random shit at random times, it's literally just for instructions

like russell in half life alyx was a good character cause you're in the fuckin dark with zombies and it's high tension and then russell is just like ok lemme tell you about a fuckimg club sandwich lol

whereas in this game when you piss off the jeff you're just on your own

(in this game "jeff" is actually called adam, by jeff i mean unkillable boss guy [ok technically jeff is killable but i spared him so shush])

(side note: i like how in hl alyx you get an achievement for killing jeff and also for not killing jeff)

yeah ok every time i am going to talk about a VR game it is going to devolve into basically comparing it to hl alyx
i am honestly upset that nobody but valve will ever pour as much money and effort into a VR game because it is my personal best game of all time by so much it's literally unfair to every other VR game

VR remains unpopular because of the cost of entry and that's why nobody puts money into VR games

currently hl alyx and beat saber are pretty much the only good VR titles
and is buying hardware worth 2 games, only one of which can be played continuously?

flip side, nobody has VR gear so it's not worth putting money and time into VR games. so i think things are just stuck

Follow

@haskal hmm I quite liked SUPER HOT, and Acron: Attack of the Squirrels! was pretty fun at the hackerspace, where the other players join on their phones

but yeah not enough for me to get VR personally

@f0x ok superhot was good but it's not like, a lot of content
