I wonder if I can "convert" a microusb device to take usb-c
Oh pog apparently there's PCBs you can get that do just that, they take a type C connector and just route all the lanes to where they should go on a usb 2 peripheral
I mean it makes sense considering there's apparently a bunch of type C USB 2 devices
If this is easy I'm getting my controller, battery bank, wireless speakers, mouse, anything that needs micro USB to connect lol
Although because those other ones are for charging would I need to adapt or would just connecting the power lanes to where they should go work?

@dragon yeah, you can also get simpler connectors that only break out power, or power+usb2.0
to get full compatibility with chargers/cables you need 2 5.1k resistors connected on specific pins to signify that it's a 5v receiving device
@f0x oh thats great to know, bookmarked this thanks a lot, I figured I'd fry something if I tried to charge a mouse with a laptop charger without some kind of resistor lol
@dragon well nothing would get fried haha, the resistors aren't for power limiting but to signal the charger "hey this is a normal 5v receiver"
without that (some) chargers will refuse to give any power, or when connected wrongly (like the raspberry pi folks did..) be detected as an audio adaptor for example
