@dragon yeah, you can also get simpler connectors that only break out power, or power+usb2.0
to get full compatibility with chargers/cables you need 2 5.1k resistors connected on specific pins to signify that it's a 5v receiving device
@dragon well nothing would get fried haha, the resistors aren't for power limiting but to signal the charger "hey this is a normal 5v receiver"
without that (some) chargers will refuse to give any power, or when connected wrongly (like the raspberry pi folks did..) be detected as an audio adaptor for example
