so going through the more proper debug steps (it doesn't boot), the CPU led stays on indicating a POST failure there. So a cpu issue instead of a motherboard issue?
:O so 2 hours later I have a new second-hand motherboard+cpu combo from another hackerspace participant, contactlessly delivered
still have to wait for a new cpu cooler tho hah
