the pine64 soldering iron came out and it looks nice (and cheap at $25!), especially with the better USB-C power options. Currently use a TS100 with a barreljack to thinkpad square to usb-c to charger which is really not ideal

but also, i already have the ts100 so..

also yknow, need to not immediately spend the money when the invoice gets paid, who knows when i'll find time/place next

@f0x Do you have any idea why it has "smart"? Like why would you want to program a soldering iron, and for what? I have been tempted to buy one but already have 2 other functioning irons, so I don't need it...

@stapper there's a bunch of nice things the (custom) TS100 firmware(s) can do, like set voltage thresholds for working of lipos, you could set USB-C power profiles, and play tetris :P

it also goes into standby based on a motion sensor, then heats up rapidly when you pick it up
