@anarchiv the power distribution board (where the battery connects) was very obviously fried, due to the battery shorting there.
After replacing that, I also found out the video transmitter, and camera were broken. Lastly the main board (brains) worked fine except being unable to read battery voltage.
So in the end I ended up replacing everything but the frame, motors, and receiver..

I really like doing it! On friday as well, I explained a lot about quadcopters to my not-so-technical gf who was sitting next to me while I was repairing it :3
