GDQ financials and stats, refuting the "go woke go broke" accusations

People are already ringing the bell that SGDQ's donation take dropped $150k because they went "too woke" and everyone left. This is absolute bullshit and it's not even hard to refute.

Let's ignore that GDQ has been exactly this inclusive for about 7 years now and their biggest years were deep in their derisively-called "pronouns on overlay era" for a moment.

Intake was in close to complete lockstep with AGDQ 2023 in the final couple days, on pace to beat both 2024 events and AGDQ 2025. It stayed this way right up until the final hour, then intake dropped sharply compared to these events.

What happened? Sponsor intake. Sponsor intake dropped $140,000 for the event, comprising almost the entire shortfall vs projected intake based on the trend across the event. Usually in the final run-up a combined $100,000 shows up from Twitch and other large sponsors. This year, it didn't, and even Fangamer didn't contribute as much as usual for some reason. Yetee stayed on point.

Also 8,000 viewers; eight thousand, left for the finale. Probably due to game choice and spoilers. But that was only for the finale. That impacted small-amount donations in the final run though for certain. But it's nothing compared to the sponsorship gap.

Speaking of "small-amount donations": SGDQ 2025 actually took in 3% more donations less than $1000 than AGDQ 2025. So yeah, donating viewers showed up.

Most of these numbers I'm getting from a reddit post I need to go through and validate if I were to use this in an actual summary but it's all available data if you poke the tracker API.

Viewers/donators didn't bounce, sponsors did. But let's be honest, the people saying this don't actually believe it, or even care about the charity. This is just ammo to collapse their argument with a simple "No." and move on confidently.
