My mother died today, aged 72.

She had serious health issues for the last two years, and refused to see a doctor, or go to the hospital, despite everyone who knew her telling her she should, instead relying on self-diagnosis and self-medication. The only help she accepted was her neighbour's offer to get groceries for her regularly, when she needed far more.
