Arg. I'm trying to hack an atari 7800 game (did you know they are cryptographically secure? in 1986?!) and it turns out my rom has no header, which means my emulators has to grab the header info from the gamedb. except I'm editing the ROM, making the hash not match the gamedb!

so now I gotta add a header, but I don't know what settings it needs, because that's grabbed from the gamedb

WHY ARE ROM-BASED CONSOLES SO FUCKING COMPLICATED

this is a joke, btw. ROM-based consoles are so fucking complicated because they can be anything.

There's Super Famicom cartridges that have 32-bit ARM chips inside them, for example

what if I just make my tool stuff my generated ROM MD5s in there before trying to run it

It works! other than the fact that the output is completely blank for reasons I don't understand.

@foone Huh. I can see colours on the blurred preview but they seem to have been optimized out of the upload so I can't see what you were looking at even after removing alpha in an image editor :c
