Just had a IRL randomizer moment:

Last May I needed to renovate my ID in Portugal (expired last month), but they have to send the confirmation via mail back to Germany where I live before I'm allowed to retrieve it.

Once I had that, I had to send it back to my parents so they can grab my ID.

So they send it over via mail and, believe it or not, I needed to show my ID in order to receive the envelope that contained my ID.

That's right, ID was behind ID.

Thankfully they didn't check the expiration date and I was able to use my expired ID to retrieve it.
