I've been watching through Gundam 0079. Slowly because subtitles require full focus.

Someone described Gundam as "If you want the cool robot fighting scenes you have to sit through the artist's opinions on war", and I see it exactly as the opposite. 0079 at least is all about war stories, that happen to be portrayed with robots.

I suspect the series will invert the balance over time into something I'm far less interested in (considering the likes of G Gundam exist), but the story being all about the psychological impact of war is what I'm after.

@trysdyn as long as you stick to the Universal Century timeline, that's what you'll get more or less. G Gundam is... special, even moreso than the other alternate universes that came after it

@elfi The only things I remember about G Gundam are the horse and that really oddly kinky pilot boarding scene. But I do recall that yes.
