i found a sony vaio on yahoo auctions with a minidisc reader and front panel that powers on but the seller says it doesn't boot to bios
any idea what would cause this? a psu problem? i'm just trying to gauge how much of a repair it would be

@darkwitchclaire If it's powering on but failing to POST, it could be a host of any number of causes, and the PSU's not high on the list
@darkwitchclaire Yeah, it would be a gamble but with some time and effort you could probably narrow it down
@elfi hoping it's just the cmos or ram but whether or not it can still display with those issues depends on the computer
