To call emulating a "lesser" experience is to put your own personal spin on something that is unique to the individual.

You're part of the vintage computing scene, even if every interaction you have is with an emulator. To me, you're a welcome addition to the hobby.

Calling people out for emulation is like yelling "Arch, btw" at folks who are just having a good time. It's obnoxious and helps nobody.
