I want to just blat out an IRC channel to grab a bunch of cool fedi people and talk about games and writing and dev/ops/IT and maybe sometimes kinky stuff and it not be yet another hopeless discord bubble in a sea of small hopeless discord bubbles.

But for most people it'd be an entirely other client; I'm the one who's already/still running IRC for other purposes :P
