Long-winded, stream of consciousness
@mos_8502 so, a marketing guy for some corpo is called in to do a seminar for some civic infrastructure in a no-name town. He sells it so well, the townsfolk writes him in as mayor in the next election expecting him to make it actually happen, even though he discovers the town in its current state could never pull it off. So, pressured by his rep and his employers wanting to make the deal, he has to aggressively stimulate its economy by building the town up on the funds it does have, dealing with political infighting (with the iconic YOU'LL REGRET THIS guy), natural disaster responses and environmental policies to mitigate the damage by climate change, and at one point losing the town's trust when they realize the whole premise and rep was built on snake oil and he has to shape up and build his trust back up, ultimately terminating the contract for the infrastructure with his former boss
@mos_8502 completely off the cuff with the disclaimer that I don't watch corporate/political dramas (I don't watch much in general!) so this may be 120% garbage but ye
