So like, I know everyone likes to talk about how eldensoulsborne games are all always about cycles of rebirth and have broken dogs and poison swamps and stuff, but I don't see a lot of engagement with Miyazaki's seeping suspicion of the church but fascination with cathedrals. It seems like religion is his nemesis but religious architecture is his favorite, and honestly? That's so valid
