I've been getting LEGO Rock Raiders sets and it feels kinda empowering? I guess I didn't necessarily look at the Chrome Crusher as a kid and wish I could have one, but despite that it still feels good that I can have one now. Rock Raiders is pretty significant to me.

Alongside the Chrome Crusher (and Hover Scout, and Rapid Rider) I also got *this* Granite Grinder whose design I think is just great. In-game I think the legs help it move through bad terrain? But it's just funny to have a bipedal vehicle with a huge drill sticking out the front.

I think it's interesting that the Granite Grinder name was reused for a later Power Miners set, which used tank treads.

And while I'm on the topic of Rock Raiders vehicles there's this one that's exclusive to the video game: kb.rockraidersunited.com/Small

Slower at moving and mining than characters not riding vehicles *and* it chews through a precious resource in order to do it. And it has an upgrade that does nothing but waste the resources you spent on it.

@NovaSquirrel I remember when I thought Rock Raiders was such a cool and modern series as a kid

...And yet now it all looks so ancient to me now, with just a few quaint custom pieces
