Oh there's an open source rpgmaker 2000/2003 conversion. They're looking for free sfx & music equivalents for the Rpgmaker RTP.

@LANthus 2003 was MIDI as well--I think they went as far as VX before finally dropping it, though WAV audio was supported as early as 2000 and I believe MP3/OGG support also developed as time went on
@elfi I'm more meaning I don't know if the runtime package for 2003 is entirely midi. If I recall it included a few WAV song to show off compatibility
@LANthus Yeah, both 2000 and 2003 had some WAV-based background noises, before XP moved those to being "Music Effects"
@elfi Rpgmaker 2000 is midi I don't recall about 2003. I'm not really in a position to pass any info off to them but that is a pretty good idea.
