If you're a self-taught #indiedev I wholeheartedly recommend reading through https://gameprogrammingpatterns.com/ if you haven't yet. They may not necessarily be 100% compatible with your style since they're not one-size-fits-all, but they add a lot of useful tools to your kit.

Being self-taught makes one miss a lot of the finer patterns in programming, but it's easy to pick up on them once you know where to look.

For today's chat on #ScottishFolklore, let's talk about the word "fairy."

Today, there seems to be a divide on what people think of when someone says “fairy.” Some people will picture a tiny humanoid girl with translucent bug-like wings, while others, perhaps thanks to a surge in young adult fiction, will picture something more like a Tolkien elf. Those are the height of a regular human, but with pointed ears and some magical ability.

Historically, though, it is more complicated.
