He also makes mention that the work of maintenance is coded as less significant, since it requires caring for something you may not have made yourself, which is socially devalued as a women's activity. So this focus on disposable things you feel like you did all by yourself are a bull-market capitalist's dream. Like the cake mix that asks for you to add things other than just water to make you feel as if you did something and had agency (not pre-decided in the factory, or in the training dataset). This analysis maps really well onto people who are way too excited about this stuff when you know what to look for.
