The "just block them" crowd would get more reception from people complaining about the shit culture on fedi if:

- They actually had the same idea about who needs to be blocked. Threads complaining about people complaining about being told to just "block everybody" to solve the problem bring the shithead mutuals out there for us to all see. News flash! The rest of us did block them, as well as your smug asshole mutuals.
- Shared moderation tools were more prevalent to avoid repeated work on new instances.
- There still needs to be a "suspend every server involved in this thread" button.
- Paid minority moderation staff. Can't state this enough. Way easier for more privileged userbases to find comfort here on a hobbyist level of effort. Combating racism on here in particular takes some full-time shit and gets very little intersectional sympathy, much less action, from the majority white users/admins.

Yeah being able to fucking block everybody is a great feature. However it isn't winning hearts and minds being a smug asshole about it when it works so easily *for you*. And! If somebody is in your replies being a bit overeager to be smug towards people being harassed online, maybe reevaluate whether you should block them too!
