A decade ago Wiimotes worked great on Linux. They were my go-to controllers for emulation (not just wii titles). Now that every contemporary guide says "it's in the Kernel" or "Dolphin emulator has a driver" I can't make them connect at all. What is it about modern support that is so different? Was there a userspace driver that actually worked at some point, which was abandoned?
@thufie ooo i remember using wiimotes with a computer. fun times.
My third party one syncs with Dolphin and then immediately dies. Lights out, complete controller power off, only a second after it gets the connection. This feels malicious.
