Why do "smart" phones still not support bringing up the software keyboard on demand? Apps are not always very smart, and I hate getting stranded without a keyboard because a dev forgot to make my keyboard pop up.

Just let me swipe up from the navbar with my fingers or hit a physical button or something. Anything! But no... Why would you want to choose when you can type with the expensive computer in your pocket...
