CW request: medical topics, especially COVID

Can everyone please CW their posts about medical topics, particularly COVID?

I have somatic symptom disorder and an anxiety disorder around health. I worry so much about my own health that it makes me sick

I need to be in the right mindset for engaging with medical topics, so I would appreciate it if you could use content warnings for them :blobcatflower:

I especially don't need to see more talk about all the lasting damage that covid and other infections inflict on the human body. That topic has the potential to send me down an anxiety spiral and literally make me physically sick

@schratze I highly recommend using filters to catch keywords and tags.

I've generally decided not to CW many topics, like insects and spiders even though people have legit issues with looking at them, because they are vital to our survival (and creatures deserving of love despite phobias). But I do my best to include predictable / consistent tags like "insects" so people can filter them out easily, rather than having to filter each kind of insect.

@schratze Problem is, fedizens often have competing CW needs. The classic example is food.

Some people have a problem with overeating, and don't want to see food pics that may make them feel bad.

Other people have a problem with starving themselves because they had a misconception that food is bad and shameful, and they need food to be openly celebrated.

There is no way to make both groups happy with CWs. The simplest answer is filters and tagging.

@skyfaller @schratze This doesn't actually fix anything. Any tagging convention consistent and agreed-upon enough to actually work as a CW substitute, would de facto become *equivalent to* CWs and thus inherit its associations
