@venite I'd pick a fifth option: it's appreciated if someone took the time to understand the context and needs, and then did their best to provide helpful advice, even if it ends up not being useful (or a duplicate).
It's unwelcome if someone is scattershotting the first thing that comes to mind for them, without even considering or checking whether it's appropriate. In those cases it doesn't seem intended to help me, but rather to make the commenter feel better about themselves.
