this reminds me of this conversation I had with a mono girl once.

me: yeah and one cool thing about having a polycule like this is like, there's one girl who's great at photography, another who has power tools and knows carpentry, another who can handle bureaucracy, another who speaks Finnish… so any time I need any kind of support I can usually find it from the girls

her: isn't that just like, a friend group

me: :thaenkin: I *guess* but I get to like, collar and leash them and stuff

@elilla This made me realize that "being in a polycule" isn't what I value, what I value is "not having arbitrary social lines of 'appropriate behaviour' with people I maintain relationships with" and a polycule is just the representation of that idea that's most socially compatible with mainstream beliefs about relationships

@joepie91 I mean that part is great too I appreciate that a lot, but I also really value the "putting them in collars and throwing them onto bed face down" part, y'know? :mochi_cat_pink:
