hm, how good/bad of an idea would it be to just go through "packaging request" issues on nixpkgs and just create packages for software i don't really know or use
on one paw it would probably be helpful and nice for those who want to use it but on the other paw my abilities to actually test the packages would be limited by not knowing the software in depth and not having actual usecases of my own
@sammy The main issue I could see is that as that software gets new releases, people are going to expect the nixpkgs to be updated and will probably knock on your door to ask for that. There's a scale beyond which that becomes unsustainable.
