@gsuberland@chaos.social I have had *so many* discussions with people about the "blockchain for supply chain" shit.
The discussions always mysteriously terminated when I pointed out that the whole blockchain component could be replaced by a much simpler and much more conventional mutual append-only log, and neither of the approaches could prevent sensors from reporting outright lies anyway.
*Nobody* who made these claims of a supply chain usecase had ever actually thought through the implementation. Everyone was just parroting the marketing materials because it sounded vaguely plausible on the surface.
