This is unacceptable and if someone made the mistake of using Matrix as an actual serious communication platform, this might get someone killed

@rail_ not having had this issue in the last 3years. Server issue? And i use matrix as my daily driving communication platform

@nominom @rail_ The problem (and I say this as someone who nominally is in support of Matrix as a protocol) is that you can't *rely* on this working, and the fact that it only breaks for some people but not others, really just makes it worse because tracking down the issue becomes difficult.

(Also, one shouldn't need to guess at the cause, that's what error messages and debug information are supposed to be for.)
