@mei I imagine this is because we don't have (standardized) integrated ticketing and so some operators probably pre-purchase and then re-sell tickets using their own fare structure basically, with no connection to DB's pricing engine

@joepie91 hm, are you sure that actually happens? i can't imagine they'd prefer doing that instead of hiring a junior developer for 3 months and having them do a shitty integration with the systems of the neighbouring countries...

@mei The integration problems are not so much technical in nature as they are political; the integrated ticketing is an extremely long-running topic of controversy.

There are certainly technical factors involved as well, but they're mostly of the "this is a decades-old system that is really difficult to modify and we don't really want to" variety which tend to require politics to resolve
