would be neat if programs on linux didnt insist on ~/[Downloads,Documents,Desktop,Videos,etc] existing in the home dir. capitalization is annoying when the rest of the system Doesnt Do That

Uhhh as someone who uses a localized system, and has the folders set to the default Portuguese names, I don’t think I ever encountered anything that hardcoded them. Those names have been localized for a while now, so hardcoding would mean only working in English.

@luana @0x57e11a Yep, I have in the past run into systems that had both a localized and an English-language version of the folders because one or two applications hardcoded the paths (but it's been too long to still remember which applications they were)
