Growing very tired of Element's passive voice when responding to criticisms, as if their hand was somehow forced and their current predicament isn't entirely a consequence of their own decisions which people have cautioned them about for years

@schoentoon Their proprietary Synapse Pro crap, and their responses to criticism about it, which boil down to "well we had no choice because we have to fund development somehow" even though people have warned them for years about the unsustainability of their capital-intensive development model and they consistently ignored and trivialized these warnings

I see... Their article literally says "Reimplementing Synapse’s worker processes in Rust". Idk but any sane project would dump the python implementation and just use this for both versions... Yikes
