Just got an attempt at phishing impersonating OVH Cloud and using a domain I actually own as a reference to make it sound plausible. Fortunately I am careful and noticed the URL does not direct where it says it does.

Speaking of, OVH is such a weird creature. A multinational company with datacentres all over the world, but they still make adorable English mistakes like writing guenuine instead of genuine.

@modulux It makes a lot more sense when you learn about their history...

For years, they only existed in France. Then they announced an expansion to the UK! And they opened a datacenter in... Gravelines, on the edge of France, at the closest point to the UK but definitely still on the French side of the sea.

A few years later, they announced an expansion to North America! Everyone assumed it would be the US, but you can guess what happened... they expanded to.... Quebec.

For years, and up until very recently, they just refused to build anything in any area of the world that wasn't French-speaking 🙃

@joepie91 To be honest, it actually makes me think better of them. I realise it is a little silly, but it's the sort of silliness for some reason makes me empathetic rather than annoyed.
