obscure life lesson

Don't underestimate how often 'nation state operatives' who are a 'threat to national security' according to news and 'experts', turn out to be three bored teens in a bedroom

@joepie91 who would win: a WAF that costs 400 USD a month, or two bored teenagers

re: obscure life lesson

@joepie91 Relatedly, surprising amount of internet far-right movements turn out to be headed up by some aggrieved fourteen year old.

@joepie91 I also often wonder how much better cyber security would be if we'd offer proper care for trans people in youth. A lot of us gals would probably not spend their teen time touching computers and hoarding absurd amounts of arcane knowledge but just doll around like we're supposed to be doin'.

re: obscure life lesson

@ljrk @joepie91 that wouldn't make cyber security better, less issues would be brought to light that way :p

re: obscure life lesson

@eloy @joepie91 Oh, absolutely! The systems would be less secure (although, arguably, less threat actors also means less risk of exploitation). I still think E is good strategy to fight cyber crime, but I may be biased 0:-)

@joepie91 And we had to put up with the Cybercharlatan for over 5 years.
