would be more open to using codeberg/forgejo in general/etc if it didn’t require users to have an account on any instance they want to contribute to a repo on
this is one reason it’s not fully ready to stop using github, because the amount of entities who would be interested in contributing to something/reporting an issue would drop significantly when they see they’d have to create a codeberg account

@0x57e11a The frustrating thing to me is that this doesn't even really need federation, it just needs a good way for an account to come into existence without having to go through a deliberate process for it (which is a much easier problem to solve than federation!) but we don't have that either 😐
