okay you have the 12V battery system fro $manufacturer but the device you want to buy is better at their 18V system.

Oh you cannot use your old battery or charger.

Do you want a charger that charges all of the $manufacturer batteries regarding of the system? Nope, can't have that.

Oh by the way, the battery charger plus two batteries are twice the price of $powertool

it's annoying that there is no proper standard and every manufacturer has their own battery pack standard.

But how hard is is to make one charger that works with all standards of one manufacturer.. This can't be so hard.

@JennyFluff It's not hard, it's just a lot more profitable not to do it, because this kind of setup creates brand lock-in

So they can sell more chargers...
