If you could choose one piece of software you wanted to exist, something that just does one simple thing and which right now you can't find (because eg. everything is bogged down in subscription or enshittification nonsense), what would it be?

@joepie91 i don't know, i am not a scientist that specializes in understanding how my adhd works. in fact i never even got in therapy for my adhd because it's near impossible to get diagnosed as an adult here, and there are no meds. i just wish someone helped me
@mynameistillian Right, let me ask it differently: can you name a notes app you've tried (any!) and describe what made it not work for you? It doesn't have to be a complete or perfectly accurate description, I'm basically just asking for a rant :P
@joepie91 most note apps don't work for me because they are a) not easy to use and overwhelming when it comes to ui and trinkets, thus making it harder for me to even try, b) don't remind me of my tasks or don't give me the push to finish them i need, rendering them useless, c) rely on stable routine which is often unavailable in my case, as my parents control large amounts of my time
