: what keeps you from building your own community space on the web, that works exactly the way you want? :boost_requested:

This doesn't have to be about a fediverse space, and it doesn't matter what kind of reason it is - technical, financial, social, ethical, otherwise, I want to hear them all 🙂

(Boosts much appreciated, I'm hoping for this to get outside of my bubble!)

@joepie91 i have many time and energy constraints but the reason it's not even on my "i would like to do this someday" list is because i dont really have moderation or conflict resolution skills, and typically always avoid taking these kind of positions both for the lack of skills and a tendency to avoid conflict situations.

so, lack of skill and maturity mostly.

@joepie91 its probably clear that this is something I want to fix about myself, but it's both rather difficult and i very much do not want to cut my community management teeth on online communities. ive seen too many friends get burned (out) and spent too much time crying over internet strangers being mad at me when i was barely a teenager.
