I don't normally talk about what/when I've donated to mutual aid fundraisers, because it feels kind of like tooting my own horn.
But I'm starting to think that maybe I should, even if just to create an ambient social expectation.
@joepie91 it's also useful because it gives some of your credibility to the fundraiser - I do most of my donating to people I follow directly, I'm more hesitant when I see a mutual aid post from somebody I don't know boosted into my feed because I have no idea how many layers of transitive boosts it's been through
@joepie91 I personally always use an alt account for donating/giving so people don’t think I’m doing it for any kind of selfish reasons, the idea of announcing it would spike my anxiety. 😬
