They have a handy map of where I’m going tomorrow 🙂

All over Tallinn there are these app controlled bike racks. But I don’t want to have to download an app to park a bike. And I don’t think it even fits a Birdy, let alone a cargo bike. And the regular racks are poor…

Bike parking: build these. Just these. That’s *it*. These stands can accommodate any type of bike. And you can lock the frame to them.

Don’t build ones where only the wheel goes in. Don’t build anything where the mechanism can go wrong.

I know this is boring. But IT WORKS!

Edit: to those going “they can be cut and taped and bikes stolen” - I know. Do I care? No, not really. Tell me a type of rack that can’t be cut with an angle grinder!

@jon I know you're probably very busy. but if at some point you're just actually waiting on a bus or train and have nothing else to do, you could help contribute to #OpenStreetMap and add pictures of things like these bicycle parkings: mapcomplete.org/cyclofix

again, fully get it if you don't have the time. I just notice myself sometimes waiting places, not being in a space where i can easily pull out my laptop to actually work (or it's too short to bother) and then I do this.

@thibaultmol @jon (If a laptop is impractical, StreetComplete on mobile is also a pretty decent option, which will let you fill in a couple attributes of the bike racks, as long as a node for them already exists on the map)

@joepie91 @jon you don't need a laptop though?

I use @MapComplete most on my phone. it's just a webapp. you can even add it to your homescreen as a progressive webapp so it acts like an app.

Mapcomplete does a bunch of things differently than streetcomplete. def when it comes to stuff like this. (you can't add as much detail to bicycle parking or add them via streetcomplete. while you can do it with mapcomplete)
