I just found out that @openstreetmap doesn't follow international agreed (de-jure) borders for Palestine and (so called) 'Israel'. al-Quds ash-Sharqiya/East-Jerusalem is not on the map, despite de-jure being part of the Palestinian Territories (screenshot 1). The illegal Israeli administrative division 'Judea and Samaria' is presented as normal/undisputed (screenshot 2), while the Westbank is only shown as Area A and B (Palestinian and partly Palestinian 'controlled' areas, screenshot 3) and labeled as disputed. Also the governorates of the State of Palestine are labelled as disputed. When you search for the State of Palestine, it doesn't exist on OpenStreetMap (only the incomplete Palestinian Territories). Also the occupied Golan Heights are presented as being officially part of 'Israel'.

Google Maps shows the de-jure boundaries and the de-facto boundaries side by side, what is a good compromise. OpenStreetMap does this for Crimea (screenshot 4), but not for Palestine.

Maybe someone should fork #OpenStreetMap, because of it's Zionist bias! It's disgusting!

@joenepraat @openstreetmap The first change seems to have been made by someone at the Microsoft mapping team. The second and third seem to be a single bulk change from one user.

I suspect this is less a case of "OSM itself is zionist" and more a case of "there is insufficient moderation against editwars".

@joepie91 Well I don't know/care who's fault it is. Right now it looks like a Zionist party and OSM can't be trusted.

@openstreetmap

@joepie91 If @openstreetmap will take action after my alarm, they can get their trust back. But for now OSM is on my boycott list.

@joenepraat @openstreetmap Did you report the edit? IIRC there's a report button and I expect that they would not be aware otherwise

@joepie91 There are just to many edits to report. I don't have time for that. Sorry.

@openstreetmap

@joepie91 I checked East-Jerusalem and I can't find the problematic edits. I see indeed that the info is taken from Bing Maps, but if I look there, the borders are okay. So I think the border edits are much older and are difficult to find.
