95% of PC cases now have buttons and ports on upper surface. Apparently people who are responsible for design of those, nowadays don't even try to take into account the case "I have a cat who occassionally steps on power button".
@archydragon More baffling to me is that this trend of putting buttons and ports on the top, seems to have coincided with the more widespread implementation of under-desk case cabinets in consumer desk designs, which is directly incompatible with it
