hot take but if you're going to be vendoring unicode (standard or cldr) data in your software then at least make it easy to supply updated unicode data to recreate your vendored input as part of the build process, so that when you inevitably fail to update your stuff to the latest version, it can just be supplied that way

i'm grumbly about this because it's something Nixpkgs would be good at, but I just found out the KDE emojier (yes the Plasma emoji picker is called "emojier") now vendors their emoji data instead of grabbing it from ibus, like previously, so I can't just bump the ibus data like previously to get the latest cldr keywords in emojier
