Honestly salaries should just be legally required to automatically increase according to the inflation rate.
(If you think that's a bad idea because it would lead to hyperinflation, I would invite you to introspect for a moment on what that says about income inequality and where the inflation comes from)
@joepie91 As somebody who's been a salaried employee for about 8 years I have mixed feelings about this.
I do agree that most people's income should increase due to inflation, but I also feel that after a certain income level those increases should become smaller and smaller.
Examples:
If you're salary is less than $40k a year (which should be illegal) then yes an automatic increase should definitely be applied.
If you're salary is $750k a year, maybe pass that 7% down to the lower earners?
