I have difficulty taking any post of 'federation considerations' seriously that is built on the premise that federation will "make the fediverse visible to Facebook users", because like, I see no reason to assume that that's the case, and quite a few to assume that it won't be

Like so many other thinkpieces on this topic, it fails the absolute lowest bar of "acknowledges and addresses the frequently-raised concerns", and if it doesn't even do *that*, how could I possibly trust the author to have an accurate take on the situation?
