It occurs to me that the most recent spate of news coverage for Threads doesn't really mention fedi anymore, instead presenting it purely as a "Twitter competitor"
@joepie91 that makes sense though because I read it won't be connecting to the Fediverse until later when they add support for it. I don't think they'd talk about it in their launch marketing materials if it's not going to be a feature at launch. Typical corporate PR nonsense.
